1998 Chateau de Negly “Cuvee de la Cote” Languedoc

A Rhone-variety blend, the Cote is a thick, sweet, pepper and fruit confection. Big, soft, and chunky, much like a really good petite sirah stripped of its tannin. The back label is full of interesting information about “microbullage” and similar buzz-words. Nonetheless, there’s good quality in the bottle. Not a lot of regional character or complexity, but a very nice drink for $8 if you want a big dark ‘un that’s ready to go.
