The Sierra Foothill region is definitely one of the best places found so far in California for Syrah. And this SV was just another brick in that wall. It was everything I’d want in a California Syrah: big blackberry fruit, minerality, balance- no 15% alcohol monstrosities here, thank you- with nice acidity and firm tannins, despite having started to throw an impressive deposit. Air improved it. I’d want at least another 3-5 years on it before cracking into my next one. Very enjoyable. Moe Curly.
