This is where it can get kind of weird

'96 Tinto Pesquera (Spain) ($24): I've enjoyed Tinto Pesquera in the past but this is a disappointment. Not much fruit on the nose with some mercaptans (reminiscent of fresh dog poop) that blew off. Nothing but stems and tannin on the palate. Blecckk. JD (5/99)

'92 Fleur du Cap Pinotage (South Africa): It is said that good French cheese should offend at least two of the senses. The nose on this wine is reminiscent of a good French cheese. The palate is no better. I think it may have caused some physical damage. A definite "cull party" candidate. JD (4/99)
