1996 Edmunds St. John Syrah

As an intermezzo, we tried a ’96 ESJ Syrah from an unspecified vineyard- no label on the bottle, hand-corked, and apparently all of 12 gallons made. Zero oak, lots of smoke, it was quite good- and that’s no joke.
